Maptech® has been providing navigational products to mariners for over 50 years, starting with the ChartKit® brand of chartbooks in 1974. The company was founded by Frank Nappa, a boater and printer, and has since expanded its offerings to include the Embassy Cruising Guides®, which began in 1989. Maptech Inc. was established in the same year, focusing on digital marine navigation and charts. The company has evolved through acquisitions and innovations, including waterproof charts and drone videos of harbors. Led by President Lee Estes, a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Maptech is dedicated to high-quality products and customer service, with many employees having over 20 years of experience. Their products are available at numerous retail locations and online.
